Watersports

For those who are looking for an exciting day out in the sea but aren’t divers, our bases in Kendwa have all your watersport needs covered.

Snorkeling: We are located close to the Mnemba Atoll Marine Reserve, which is well-known as one of the world’s top snorkeling sites. With reefs coming up to within a meter of the ocean surface, and that are covered in exceptional natural beauty and diverse sea life, putting your head under the water here is like peering into an entirely different world.

Parasailing: You will get to take in the island from a completely different angle when you go parasailing. This is definitely for those that get a kick out of being very high off the ground. Panoramic views around you are equally matched by the absolutely breath-taking sights below – think cerulean blue waters meeting swathes of white sand and emerald forests beyond.

Kiteboarding: One of our favourite extreme watersports is kitesurfing (also known as kiteboarding), as it is relatively easy to learn and incredibly fun once you get the hang of it. Whether you are just starting out or are a professional kiteboarder, the northern coastline of Zanzibar is ideal due to its shallow water and the wind predictability in its two prime kiteboarding seasons.

Waterskiing: We have all the equipment you need for thrilling days spent waterskiing, wakeboarding and, for something different, bumping along on ringo tubes. These have got to be three of the most exhilarating watersports out there and ones we recommend for the true adventure junkies that visit Zanzibar.
